    Position Summary 

    Follows established organizational policies. Develops procedures; recommends    policies. defined work assignments and projects; conducting and implementing actions; and short-term planning.

     

    Position Accountabilities

    1. To execute the customer's & Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. policies and procedures to meet the operational requirements of the fab.
    2. To implement and maintain technical and safety programs, operating records and documentation, and manages the site.
    3. Keeping/maintaining the equipment maintenance database, schedules, and procedures up to date.
    4. To recommend, support, and implement improvements to all gas & chemical equipment and related systems new or existing.
    5. To assure timely communications and reports with all team members (customer, subordinates, and Matheson Management).
    6. To maintain a high level of professionalism while continuing to gain specialized education and training.
    7. Perform other project and duties as assigned.
    8. Responsible for the stores overall operations.
    9. Receives and processes customer orders via phone, fax, e-mail, or in person for existing accounts.
    10. Creates shipping orders on line in a timely and accurate manner.
    11. Provides back-up to/for counter / inside sales / warehouse.
    12. Telephone and counter sales and order solicitation.
    13. Supports and promotes national alliance partners/preferred suppliers.
    14. Telephone solicitation for customers with scheduled delivery days.
    15. Follow up on quotations for customer requirements.
    16. Prints and reviews the daily/weekly/monthly reports. Recommends and takes appropriate corrective action.
    17. Receives and resolves customer complaints, ensuring customer satisfaction.
    18. Knows major customers and understands their requirements.
    19. Performs general housekeeping, stocking and merchandising of store. Implements locally all national promotions.
    20. Creates and maintains barcode price tags, shelf tapes and store signage.
    21. Provides process and product knowledge and equipment demonstrations to customers.
    22. Communicates sales opportunities to account managers.
    23. Ensures local application of store, sales, general and administrative policies and procedures.
    24. Actively promotes safety in all aspects of his/her responsibility.
    25. Ensures compliance with OSHA, FDA, and DOT regulations.
    26. Distribution and filling efficiency (if applicable).
    27. Handles all verbal, written reprimands and suspensions which include one on one counseling.
    28. Creating and receiving inter-store transfers.
    29. Handles customer or employee injuries.
    30. Responsible for stores end of the month closing procedures

     

    HOURS OF WORK:

    Typical hours for this position are going to match the requirements of the customer base Monday through Friday and possibly some Saturday hours if applicable. This is a full-time position, which may require traveling.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Directly supervises the local site employees within the retail branch. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university;
    • Five to Ten years related experience and/or training preferably in site/branch operations and/or package gas operations in the industrial gas industry; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • Valid Driver's License
    • Hazardous Materials training

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to proficiently display computer software skills with programs such Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Hands on understanding of industrial gas products, production, distribution applications, and associated equipment.
    • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices.
    • Training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, and FDA)
