  • Overview

    Position Responsibilities

    • Practices safe work procedures, and follows all safety rules at all times
    • Ensure products meet industry standards for safe operation
    • Maintain expert level product and application knowledge for customer technical inquiries related to specialty gas equipment and systems
    • Provide design and specification development support for sales team to secure contracts
    • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs/RFQs
    • Listen, understand and convey customer requirements
    • Generate bid/no bid recommendations
    • Translate customer requests into practical, cost effective solutions
    • Coordinate between Sales and Engineering to accommodate customer specifications and provide technical solutions and timelines
    • Work with outside suppliers to establish equipment requirements
    • Provide cost estimates, pricing and lead time for custom products
    • Assist in the design and development of new products
    • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases
    • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives
    • Maintain professional business relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
    • Confer with customers, Sales, Engineering, and Operations to provide status of projects
    • Identify customers’ needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
    • Challenge the status quo to drive process improvements

     Required Skills:

    • Must be results driven and work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement, collect data, and leverage the data to implement sustainable change
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to develop and sustain strong customer relations and demonstrate commitment to internal customers
    • Solid understanding of process piping applications
    • Experienced in mechanical engineering, industrial applications, flow calculations, knowledge of NFPA standards and CGA guidelines
    • Ability to develop and interpret P&ID diagrams
    • Ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems
    • Ability to create AutoCAD manufacturing drawings, P&IDs and specifications
    • Experienced in Engineering Change Order (ECO) procedures
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Organized, disciplined and capable of meeting deadlines
    • Proficient with MS Office products
    • Ability to travel domestically <10% of time
    • Professionalism


    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree or related field preferred
    • Experience in specialty gas applications strongly preferred
    • Experience with, or ability to readily learn, Epicor ERP Software
    • Experience in design-build manufacturing a plus
    • Lean Six Sigma certification/experience a plus
    • Prior customer-facing experience a plus
