    POSITION SUMMARY 

    The employee is responsible for assembling equipment in a manufacturing environment as scheduled by the production supervisor.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

    1. Safety - Assembler will follow Matheson’s safety procedures. 
    2. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.  
    3. Productivity – Assembler will be expected to complete the tasks given following a production format, keeping an eye on decreasing costs, decreasing production cycle time, and decreasing quality issues.
    4. Staff – Assembler will be expected to work effectively with other employees. 
    5. Production Scheduling – Assembler will follow the production plan.
    6. Assembler will work with personnel with the goal of completing projects on time.
    7. Field Service – On occasions, assembler will be expected to work at an off-site location to service freezer maintenance and freezer installations.
    8. Finished Goods Inventory – Assembler will be expected to prepare finished goods for shipment, as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

    • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • 2-3 years’ experience of project assembly work is a plus.
    • Safety consciousness
    • Knowledge of metalworking
    • Practical hands on assembly experience
    • Background working in a production environment
    • Must possess mechanical aptitude
    • Must be able to read and write and perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity
