    The Hardgoods sourcing manager reports to the Director of Strategic Sourcing for Hardgoods.  Under the Director’s supervision, the Hardgoods Sourcing Manager responsible for selecting welding hardgoods vendors by product line, managing vendor relationships and pricing/rebate arrangements, and enforcing compliance with Vendor selection decisions at the MTG branch level.    Must work closely with Marketing and Zone personnel to select vendors and define programs that maximize MTG’s profitability in this area.  Product knowledge, analytical ability and collaborative skills are highly important.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess and recommend selection of Preferred Vendors whose products MTG will stock for resale and actively promote.
    • Negotiate pricing/rebate and promotional programs with selected vendors.
    • Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors within like product categories, and formulate plans to achieve consolidation.
    • Collaborate with Hardgoods Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and Zone management to define and implement vendor-specific promotions.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance of defined Preferred Vendor stocking programs at retail branches.
    • Support Zone Inventory Managers in minimizing dead inventory accumulation through vendor returns and movement of slow-moving inventory to Zones where it can be sold.
